Birhanmumbai Custom Brokers Association AGM elects new Team with Karunakar Shetty as President

Karunakar Shetty (1)Recently, Mr. Karunakar Shetty has been elected as President of Brihanmumbai Custom Brokers Association (BCBA) at its AGM held in Mumbai. BCBA voted to elect 6 Office Bearers and 12 Managing Committee members. Other Office Bearers include Mr Kiran Rambhia (Sr Vice President); Mr Dushyant Mulani, Mr Sanjeev Harale and Mr Vinayak Aparaj (Vise Presidents), Mr Paresh Thakkar, Hon Secretary and Hiren Ruparel, Hon Treasurer.  The elections were held at three different locations viz CIDCO Exhibition Centre Navi Mumbai, Airport Cargo Complex, Andheri East and BCBA Office Nariman Point for ease in voting for members. For the first time in the history of BCBA, the voting was conducted electronically through Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).

Commenting on their win Mr Shetty conveyed his sincere gratitude to the entire Custom Broker fraternity, seniors, advisors, returning officers and staff for their continuous support and guidance. According to him, the election results signify the deep rooted foundation of the democracy in BCBA which was being experienced by each member in a free and fair manner.

Earlier, at the 33rd AGM of BCBA, held at ITC Grand Central, Parel on June 29, 2018, witnessed participation from many guests and dignitaries from the logistics industry. The guests included: Mr Sanjay Bhatia, Chairman, Mumbai Port Trust; Mr Deepak Shetty, ex Director-General of Shipping; Mr Ananth Krishnan, Commissioner of Customs, Air Cargo Complex; Mr Jagriti Sain Negi, IRS, Commissioner of Customs, New Custom House; Mr Manoj Singh, Senior Vice-President, MIAL; Mr A. K. Bose, Traffic Manager, MbPT, and Mr Khalid Khan, Regional Chairman, FIEO.
