Being the official logistics partner for the upcoming “Expo 2020” in Dubai leading express logistics company UPS has decided to give a new look to one of its 747 jumbo jets dedicated for long-haul international use. The jumbo jet is sporting a modified paint scheme highlighting the company’s crucial role for Expo 2020 Dubai. The company sources said UPS had only modified the livery of an aircraft four other times in the airline’s 30-year history. Each of those times signified a major news event – this time, it’s to mark UPS’s unique role in delivering one of the world’s most complex logistics challenges at the upcoming Expo 2020 Dubai.
Millions of visitors from around the world are expected to attend the Expo in the United Arab Emirates. During the event’s six month run (from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021), UPS will manage all of the logistics of the event, using a team of nearly 1,000 employees and a dedicated 290,000 sqft warehouse.
It is expected that more than 25 million visitors over the roughly six months of the Expo 2020 and more than 300,000 new jobs to be created, in addition to around 180 exhibiting countries and international organisations attending the event. With the theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future” Expo 2020 would provide a platform to seasoned entrepreneurs as well as start-up companies to grab opportunities in this fast changing times, through collaboration and partnership, when the challenges have become far too complex to be solved in isolation.
